Dinner & a One-Time Only “Stations” Chant. First we’ll meet in the St. Michael’s Parish Center for a Lenten dinner. Fr. Buettner has arranged for a special Young Adults dinner discount, and the meal will only be $5.00 per Young Adult (just be sure to tell the Knight taking the money that you’re with our Young Adults group). We’ll have a Young Adults table reserved so we can sit together. Then after dinner, we’ll go as a group to the Church to hear the Carolina Catholic Chorale present “Adoramus te, Christe”, a special Lenten devotional in chant around the Stations of the Cross (this starts at 7:30pm and lasts about 40 minutes). This is a one-time special event at St. Michael’s.
Lunch with Our Local Religious. After the 10am Mass, we’ll go to the gym for a FREE lunch, and sit together at the Young Adults table reserved for us. During lunch, Monks from Belmont Abbey and Sr. Mary Raphael of the Daughters of the Virgin Mother (also from Belmont), will share their vocation stories. Come out to support our local religious!!
Dinner a Catholic Talk given by Fr. Winslow. He’s the pastor from St. Thomas Aquinas in Charlotte and he’s a good friend of Fr. Buettner. Pope Francis just named Fr. Winslow as one of only 50 priests in the US to be “Missionaries of Mercy”, and Father will explain more about what this means during his talk. And how great is this: his talk about mercy will take place on the Vigil of Divine Mercy Sunday! J We’ll meet at Tequilas Mexican Restaurant on Main Avenue in Gastonia – just come to the 2nd floor, which we have reserved, and we can sit together as a group. There will be buffet dinner available (tea and water included) for $12, if you’re hungry.
