2017 POLICIES

Each Group must mail a Group Registration Form with the total payment for each person (adult & teen) attending the rally. Each person must register as part of a group. A group will be defined for this rally as at least one teen and two or more adult chaperones (unless the parent of the teen is the chaperone, and then only one chaperone is needed).

Registration fee (received by Monday, July 31,2017) will be

Please remit full payment in the form of a single check for each group registration! Please make check payable to: St. Michael’s Church.

Due to the nature of this event and the pre-planning required, the registration fee is nonrefundable and nontransferable.

Additional individual registrations added to your group made after the July 31,2017 registration deadline will be charged a subject to te late registration fee.

Registrations and/or individual additions will NOT be accepted the day of the rally (August 18-20, 2017).

Each group leader must check in at the St. Michael’s Church Parish Center

A completed and signed liability/medical release form must be turned in FOR EACH PARTICIPANT (both teens and adults)during check-in. Any individual without this form will not be permitted to participate in the rally. The rally is only open to teens in grades eight through twelve(8-12). No exceptions can be made. While any 8th graders are welcome to attend with a Sr. High Youth Ministry/ Group. Children younger than 8th grade should not be brought to the Knowing Jesus Youth Rally. Nursing infants are more than welcome but will be the responsibility of the mother during the day and should not be cared for by teens at any time.

CHAPERONE POLICIES

Chaperones must be at least 21 years of age. All groups are responsible for making sure that the chaperones you bring are in compliance with the Youth Protection Policies of your home diocese. Due to the nature and size of this youth rally, each group must maintain a chaperone to youth ratio of 1:8 throughout the entire day. Chaperones are expected to supervise and interact with youth at all times, including during meal times, Eucharistic Holy Hour and Mass. Any adult that does not adhere to the above policies will not be permitted to participate in the rally. LUNCH/DINNER

All participants must bring a bag lunch and a drink. No purchased lunch option will be available and no one will be permitted to leave the grounds to purchase lunch due to time constraints and liability issues. We suggest bringing large ice chests to keep the food and drinks safe in your vehicles during the morning sessions. Pizza Dinner with chips, cookies, and drink is included in the admission price. If any member of your group has special dietary needs please have them bring their own meal. Special meal storage will be made available if necessary.

FIRST AID

Various medical professionals (nurses, doctors, EMT’s) will be volunteering and available at the first aid station all day throughout the event for any participant in need of care (8:30am-8:30pm). Refrigeration will be available for any required medication. Please bring medications that need refrigeration to the first aid station upon your arrival. All medication must be clearly marked with the person’s name and dosage instructions.

WRISTBANDS

Each participant will receive a special wristband for the rally. These wristbands must be worn AT ALL TIMES throughout the day. It identifies you as a participant at the rally, and also serves as your ticket for dinner.

PROPERTY

St. Michael’s Parish is the host for the rally and all participants are expected to treat the property with respect and to conduct themselves with reverence while in the church, chapel or other places of worship and prayer. Please instruct your teens to notify a Knowing Jesus volunteer in the event of an accidental spill or if anything is needed or out of place in the bathrooms. No one should bang the pews in church with their hands for any reason.

SMOKING

St. Michael’s Parish is a smoke-free environment and no smoking is allowed anywhere inside or outside the facilities. Smoking is allowed (over 18 only) off parish property. All smokers are expected to dispose of their cigarette butts in a proper receptacle.

DRESS CODE

All participants are expected to dress appropriately. Clothing must cover all undergarments (including bra straps and boxer waistbands) and midriffs. Clothing with offensive language or obscene pictures is not allowed. No low-cut shirts, mini-skirts, excessively short shorts, yoga-type pants, leggings/jeggings/stretchy pants/shorts are allowed. Shoes and shirts must be worn at all times. Chaperones are expected to convey this information to the youth from your parish/school and then enforce it while at the rally. Please remember that while casual dress is expected, it should be appropriate for Eucharistic Adoration and attending Mass.

PHOTOGRAPHY/VIDEOGRAPHY

Photographs are not permitted during Adoration or Mass. Videotaping or recording of talks is NOT permitted.
